Sue grew up on a farm in Norwalk, Ohio, where her father was the police chief and her mother was a teacher.  She earned her undergraduate degree from the Ohio University and her MPA from Cleveland State University.  Sue also maintains her Ohio State Nursing Home License.

Sue is the founding Executive Director of Serving Our Seniors, a social service agency providing personalized services to Erie County, Ohio residents 60 and older.  Under her direction, Serving Our Seniors has earned popular public support and a reputation as an innovative, effective and exceptionally well managed organization.

Sue is a passionate and committed advocate for older adults.  In addition to managing the organization’s  day to day business affairs and staff, Sue investigates and develops programs to address the issues that cause seniors to become vulnerable and threaten their ability to remain independent.  She also publishes Serving Our Seniors Magazine.

Transportation, financial elder abuse, financial insecurity in later life, personal health care advocacy, memory loss and ageism are just some of the issues she works on.   Sue also publishes Serving Our Seniors Magazine and writes a column for the Sandusky Register.

When Sue retires, she would like to live on the island of Tonga, have a Great Dane puppy, a pot-belly pig, horse and a goat.  Mark prays that Sue doesn’t retire.
